Chinese Art Transcends National Borders-00-107

Speaking of Chinese traditional arts, we may remember shadow-play and bamboo carving and so on. Nowadays, fewer and fewer people pay much attention to them. Thus, they are on the edge of dying out. And to the artists' anxieties, no one would like to learn the classical art to inherit the treasure. Hu Shisheng, an expert on bamboo carving, is hearted to find that the only few inheritors all changed their vocation, one for transportation, one for decoration and no one stayed. So we may ask whether we can protect our traditional art the way it is. Definitely we should protect our ancient treasure, but this couldn't be the reason of prohibition of teaching foreign people our brilliant culture. On one hand, the criteria of high quality of art is determined by the mass audience. As we have discussed just now, for some forms of art, it's hard to revive it if new elements are not permitted. People appreciate art because it can satisfy some needs of theirs. Imagine if the art doesn't reflect people's life and need any longer, how could it survive? If the ancient English didn't make any change ,now maybe it would be a dying language. See, how many people are still using ancient English now? Even British people themselves couldn't understand. By the same token, art should be accepted by most people, then it could be everlasting. On the other hand, although foreigners can hardly understand the spirit of Chinese traditional art, the incident itself is a process of helping foreigners to acquire further understanding towards our art. And it is just due to the lack of exchange or communication that foreigners still keep the old and negative image of Chinese people. Therefore, it's not reasonable to say allowing foreigners' access will lower standards and lead to its downfall. And it also shows the hospitality and tolerance of Chinese people. We are faced with the patented brands threatening from overseas all the time. And the intellectual property should be legalized, but not by simply local protection. The whole world should also obey but not only China. We can apply for the patent in advance .Actually ,teaching foreigners face-swapping and patent are two different concepts. The outspread of the art won't definitely lead to traditional Chinese brands being pirated or patented. Otherwise, it's the same with a supposition that the soup may get one choked, so you would never have soup again, right? Or once the westerners sell opiate to us and destroyed our health, so we should close the door and never allow any foreigner to come to China. The last but not least, you are afraid of popularizing these secrets because it may decline audience's interest. So you are not so confident in our innovation. Compared with the limited domestic market, what do you think of a wider overseas market? To spread it is to attract larger range of audience and also to develop it into a thriving business. It can become potential stress to move the art further in skills. Without competition, face-swapping can only be the comfortable sheep dying out without wolf. Thus, we reached our goal of reviving the traditional art and making it an everlasting treasure in the long run. Based on the above reasons, we believe that we should not forbid Zeng Jingui teaching face-swapping to a French magician
